Temple of heaven - Calligraphy on the ground

Calligraphy, the art of writing characters (here sinograms : Chinese characters), is important in China.
Here people write "short-lived" characters, with water ! some of them write poems...
The brushes are now made with synthetic bristles, even if we can find made as before, i.e. made with goat or horse hair for calligaphy, hare or weasel hair for painting.
Also notice that these brushes are used for wash painting (which also originates from China in the 6th century), i.e. paintings with a single color and a set of shade obtained by diluting more or less ank in distilled water.
