Baoding - Niche of king Sutra

The king of peacocks, Mahamayuri - one of the kings of wisdom - is seated on a lotus throne supported by a huge peacock. He has the power to protect against physical or spiritual poisoning. A sutra (sacred text) is devoted to him.
In Tantric Buddhism (which is the one of the site) "diamond vehicle", the kings of wisdom are at the third level of "gods" after Buddhas and Bodhisattvas (they also have to protect).
