Toshogu shrine - Yomeimon gate and its stairs

Thousands of craftmen would have worked on the construction of this magnificent gate.
The two zuijin (or zuishin), guardian kamis in Shintoism are depicted in niches between pillars. They carry bow and arrows and are dressed with costumes from the Heian period.
