Guksadang temple - Dokseong, Chilseong and Sanshin (Korean shamanistic figures)
In the center there is Tejaprabha (North Star) which is invoked to avoid bad luck. At his side at the top, the spirits of the moon (cap with a white circle) and the spirit of the sun (cap with a red circle).
At the bottom, the seven characters represent the seven stars of the Big Dipper and thus personify Chilseong. At the top right is Taesangnogun easily recognizable with the prominence of his forehead. The seven characters with green halos are Buddhas...
Chilseong is invoked to have children and for their longevity.
On the left of the picture is Dokseong, the recluse, and on the right is Dangun assimilated to Sanshin, the spirit of the mountain.
Dokseong, Chilseong and Sanshin are the "three sages" of Korean shamanism.
