Waujeongsa temple - Scene from Buddha's life #3

Born with a mark on his body that the sages interpret as an omen meaning he will either be a religious man or a prince, he is protected from the outside world by his father, who reigns over a kingdom in northern India. The latter wants to protect him from outside influence so that he is not going to turn to religion but will take his succession. And so Siddhartha lived in a palace and got married at the age of 16. He had a son. But, at age of 29, he asked the charioteer to take him twice outside the palace. He discovered the "4 sights" that changed his life : the old age, death and disease during the first journey and then a monk in meditation during the second journey.
He then understands the reality of the human condition and that "everything is suffering".
