Yong-in folk village - Show of traditional dance (1/4)

This dance is spectacular... Dancers (or acrobats) have a long ribbon hanging on the hat they twirled with dexterity before, themselves, jumping to the horizontal...
This farmer dance derived from shamanistic rituals and is often performed indoors. It varies by region and has many names. We can attribute the samulnori for the province of Gyeonggi-Do.
Among the musical instruments, there is a small gong (for lightning), a larger gong (for the wind), an hourglass drum (for rain) and a "barrel" drum (for clouds). We also find the concept of yin and yang with the drums that represent the sounds of the Earth while the gongs represent the sounds of Heaven.
Note : among other traditional dances there is the talchum which is masked caricatures. Unfortunately this one is missing in the folk village in Suwon.
