Rear horse near Cloonkeen on N22

20 km away from Killarney, near Cloonkeen, along the edge of the N22 leading to Cork, there's a statue of a rear horse. It was carved during the rebuilding of the road in the '90s. As a matter of fact, this statue shows a Celtic war horse wearing a pointed helmet, which makes him look like a licorn. The broken chains on his forefeet are a symbol of freedom.
