Inns Court - Top of temple bar memorial

This memorial marks the old boundary between the City and Westminster which were two distinct towns. Before entering the City, the sovereign received honors from the mayor there. At the top there is a bronze griffin that can be easily confused with a dragon. On one side below there is the statue of Queen Victoria.
