St Denis basilica - Mausoleum of Louis XII and Anne of Brittany
The emblem of King Louis XII (1462-1498-1515) was the porcupine, that can be seen in the sculptures of the castle of Blois.
A French saying may be translated by "watch out, you might get hit by quills".
Less known than King Francis I (his successor), he was called the Father of the People as he lowered direct taxes (but nevertheless increased indirect taxes).
