Vienne - Pyramid of the circus

Vienne - Pyramid of the circus

According to a legend people thought it was the marking of the tomb of Pontius Pilate, who would have died in Vienne during his exile (there are many legends about the death of Pontius Pilate, one of which indicates that he would have died in Le Pilat). The 25 m (82 feet) obelisk which is mistakenly called pyramid marked the central location of an old Roman circus where chariot races were held. Those races lasted seven laps and were rough and hard.
