Forbidden city - Bridge leading to the door of supreme harmony

This marble bridge spans a artificial stream ("gold water") running through the forbidden city.
There are 5 bridges, in all, representing the cardinal virtues of confucianism : benevolence (ren), propriety (li), justice (yi), honesty (xin), faithfulness (zhong).
Note : the middle bridge was restricted to the emperor.
