Xian buried army - Pit #1, the largest

Here it is, the famous deathly army of emperor Qin ! It's impressive even if having heard so much about it made me expecting nothing less...
The statues are 1.70 m (5.7 feet) to 1.90 m (6.3 feet) high (which was tall for the time) and were painted. There were knights, sometimes with terracotta horses, archers and infantry soldiers.
This is one of the largest sites in China with the Forbidden City and the Great Wall, the first large wooden building (by connecting and consolidating existing sections made of earth). Besides, this latter was also ordered by the same emperor Qin.
