Wongudan, Seoul Heaven temple

There remains only one pavilion of the original temple built in 1897 by King Gojong who had proclaimed himself emperor, and wanted to make sacrifices to Heaven, as the emperors of China did. The pavilion also reminds me a little the temple of Heaven in Beijing. The sacrifices to Heaven then took place here annually from 1897 to 1910.
