I left South Korea to reach the south of Japan by ferry. I then kept going north up to the country's capital Tokyo and even further on up to Nikko where I spent a day. My peregrinations lasted nine days in March 2010. March is not the best period of the year to plan a visit of the land of the rising sun and I advise rather late April or May.
