The volcano of Mount Fuji is highly revered in Japan where it is a sacred mountain. It is also the highest mountain in the country with 3776 m (12388 yards) and its symbol. Kami would live at the top of the volcano. And what is the name of the kami of mount Fuji ? Fuji !
We can only climb the volcano in July-August but it is always possible to contemplate from one of the five lakes that surround the volcano. Lake Kawaguchiko is a good option with a nice panoramic viewpoint. The summit of the volcano is always under snow, either in winter or in summer. Fortunately, the last eruption dates back to 1707.
