Chatsworth
Too bad my visit was under the rain, but that is part of British folklore !...
Chatsworth is a Renaissance mansion arranged in Baroque style. Here are the rooms which are not to be missed :
- the great stairs
- the music room with a violin hung on a door which is actually a trompe l'oeil. I had even mistaken myself as I only knew it after my visit...
- the library
- the dining room : wonderful !
- the chapel
- and various other rooms or objects such as a marble statue of a veiled virgin vestal (no picture)...
The park and gardens are on the same level of quality :
- a nice waterfall : listen to the sound of water at every step...
- a maze...
- ponds
- water jet and fountain of the hippocampus
- cave, rocks
- greenhouse and rose garden
Finally, let us not forget the many sheeps...
