Portmeirion and the castles of the North Coast[Unesco]

Portmeirion

Portmeirion village

Portmeirion is a charming little village created by Welsh architect Sir Clough Williams-Ellis to fulfill his childhood dream !

This is a small complex of Baroque and Rococo Italian-inspired buildings, sometimes with an asian touch. We can also find the symbols of Wales (dragon) and of the British monarchy (motto, crown) present on the entrance arch of the village.

The castles of the North Coast

4 castles listed by Unesco were built to defend the coast : Beaumaris, Conwy, Caernarfon and Bodelwyddan. Below are Caernarfon and Conwy.

Nearby, you can also visit the Snowdonia National Park : for nature lovers.
